Factory Service Complete

Wrapped up our factory service visit yesterday around noon (started 8AM Monday)and was very pleased with the outcome. The repairs were requested/scheduled by our dealer (Ketelsen's RV, Hiawatha IA) and I confirmed with Carmen in Customer Service, who was very helpful in finalizing the details to fit our schedule.

After arrival, I worked with Darrell (also Customer Service) who did an excellent job in documenting our needs and communicating with the shop on what was to be done. He kept us updated via phone when they had a better idea of timing and also when things were buttoned up and ready to go. We did a follow-up review with him of all the repairs with documentation to follow.

Repairs we had done:
1. Aluminum tack weld in nose structure evidently failed resulting in minor vertical movement of side panel in relation to hitch frame. Reinforced aluminum tubing with wood inserts and used longer fasteners to secure. (Required removing nose cone to complete)
2. Replaced microwave/convection oven with new unit. Previous unit had started throwing an "F-5" error in convection mode, so Keystone decided to replace rather than try and diagnose/repair.
3. Checked drop frame space for apparent fresh water leak. Dropped panel, overfilled both tanks and checked all fittings. No leak found so we'll keep an eye on it for now.
4. Replaced small section of decal on BR slide that had started to peel in several spots.

One of the nice extras that they evidently do on all units brought in for service is to run a pressure/leak test on the propane system that includes checking the regulator adjustment and changeover valve system.

In summary, we were very pleased with our visit and the attention paid to satisfying our problems. Based on our experience, I can highly recommend Darrell, Carmen, and Keystone personnel in general and would not hesitate to return if needed. Our only disappointment was not having time to do the Montana factory tour - maybe in the fall if we can make a rally!
