Christmas day, 1958, Bing Crosby's voice crooned over the base public address system, "I'll Be Home For Christmas." Walking guard duty and being 1200 miles from home and being 18 years old, I learned to hate that song on about the second airing.

Today it sounds (in my head) a little better. The church has elected a Pastor Search Team and they are busy about their task. An outstanding candidate has surfaced and is already in Hong Kong. Of course, search teams are sort of like juries, somewhat unpredicable. But if they were to select this fellow, we could be back in the States by Christmas. You praying types know what to do with this.
