You have power into the slide. The problem lies in the wall outlet. Remove the wall outlet. Dollars to doughnuts, it has two power lines connected. One is 120V input from under the slide and the other foes to the light. Ensure both lines have power. If they do, then check continuity on the line to the ceiling fixture to check for a broken wire.
