There are definitely similar floor protectors for hard surfaced floors. When we had our carpet replaced with tile, the installer sold us two of them. I don't know whether we would need them or not, but it's better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them. They were not cheap so we only got two so we move them from one slide to the other. It sounds more complicated than it is--it works. Since we did not order ours I do not have a web address, but I'll bet you can find them on Amazon.
