I use thick oversized bubble wrap (available in bulk at RV shops) with Velcro to keep it in place to block out the light. Planning to change to two parallel L-brackets to make a slide in sunblocker. Hoping this will be quieter than the ripping sound of the Velcro when the shade is removed. Then just slide in to place, quietly.

We also use cut-to-size bubblewrap pieces behind the window covers for the bed side windows and the window at our dresser. We also use the thick padded 14" square vent inserts for the ceiling openings. The room is DARK! If we need to be awake at a certain time, we use an alarm, because the room is as dark as when we go to sleep at night and we might wake up late because it's so dark.
