You can bring a shotgun or rifle but no handguns. You need to fill out paperwork for the shotgun. You can get the forms online. When we were driving through Canada the summer of 2017, we just parked in areas off the road or rest areas unless posted that it was not allowed. Very few posting not allowing you to. We were on our way to Alaska so we did not stay at any campgrounds because we would only stay over night. As far as pets, just have current shot paperwork.
