Ours are fairly tight but they come off easily with channel lock pliers. Maybe yours are too tight for that. When I need to check torque a few times after a wheel has been removed I usually leave those covers off until the lugs no longer tighten. If anyone is missing any of these lug covers, catch me at the rally. I somehow acquired a number of extras.
