They would drive over a nail or piece of glass , lose pressure in a tire until it finally ripped itself to pieces, and tear up the side of their trailer. Or, if you were lucky, lose pressure slowly,until the tire lost it's load carrying capacity, and just destroy the tire and wheel. But, yeah, it's your money; spend a little on a preventative measure now, or spend a lot later on a tire, wheel and maybe new side panels on your trailer. You can check your tires when you stop for gas, and 5 minutes after you hit the road, drive over a nail, and not know it. THAT is the value of TPMS.
