The DW wanted a flag mounted on the RV. I thought a suitable location would be the flat top portion of steel housing the king pin at the hitch. Drilled 3 - 1/8 inch holes and mounted the flag there. Looks good - but DW says I have compromised the integrity of the whole hitch and fears that torque there will cause cracks through the holes across the steel and we will have a catastrophic failure. I say, there is no torque across the top of the 1/4 steel plate - it should all be dtributed through the Mor-Ryde hitch. Its always something - darned if you do - darned if you don't. What do you think about the hitch now needing to be repaired?
