I had a 6 L 2003. I got rid of it at 40,000 miles because I didn't won't bulletproof it. They are the same engine that's in school buses. The difference is the school busses produce way less horse power. What happens to engines is the head bolts aren't strong enough and the head will lift just enough to allow it to leak. If it was me I would rather have the 6.7. If you bulletproof it that is a whole different story. They become a very good engine.
