Thank you so much. I love your poem in your signature. In the Kansas community and family I was born into, "Decoration Day" was a really important day in our family. It was a time we honored all our dead and flowers were placed on all the graves in our family cemetery. It was like a family reunion and often a picnic. My Father served in North Africa and Italy during WWII. I recently inherited all his military records and have recorded all his papers as well as the letters my Mother and he wrote to each other during the 39 months he was overseas. He served under Patton and Eisenhower and left the service as a Lt. Col. He was proud of his service and commendations. I am proud of what he did for his country. His letters home were from a young man who greatly missed his family. He is buried in the National Cementery in Riverside, CA. A big THANK YOU to all our veterans and service personnel.
Happy trails..........................
