To do that to brakes in 6K miles, something is not set up right.

You truck has a exhaust brake from hell, and will stop the truck and trailer under normal use with very light braking.

I would assume you are using the tow/haul mode and ALWAYS run with the exhaust brake on. Your dash controller on heavy electric 5.0.

I just had my bearings packed @ about 12K miles and the trailer brakes are just getting seated in. I have 7K Dexter axles. 2" shoes.

I suspect you will experience short pad life if you do not do something to correct the over braking of the trailer.
