Logic would say it must be a "left hand" latch since it is on the left hand side of the door and frame. I honestly have never seen a door or screen that was hinged on the opposite side to what you have. Interesting question. My 1951 Monarch car had the rear "suicide" doors as they were called, I am sure some older folks will remember them.
