We have camped in Virginia Beach at the Holiday L Travel Park for the last couple of years. The best sites are the Supersites, but they are a bit pricey. The rest of the campground has large open sites at decent prices for a Beach local. The beach itself is a short bike ride on the bike path that runs right by the park. If you decide to go to VA go to Big Sam's for breakfast right on Rudee Inlet. Half Price Bloody Mary's with old Bay on the glass rim. There is also a KOA a mile further up the road which folks we've met say is nice. Have a safe trip.
