To each his own.

I have had both.

The IS on an enclosed cargo trailer. Had one side on the front axel fail.

The standard spring system on other trailers. Never failed a spring but did fail the frame but that was a bad engineering job by the manufacturer of the frame.

The disk brake is very desirable and is available on the standard spring system.

The only thing I have to point out is this. If you brake a spring or spring hanger a couple of 4X4 and banding strap or ratchet strap and you tow your own trailer in to the repair facility. Fail one of the IS units and it is a semi with a Ladow and winch to load the trailer so it can be transported to the repair facility.
