Back in the 70's, burping the refer was the practice when you had cooling problems. But then again, the refer was small enough (3 - 3.5 cuft) to remove it and flip it for a day or so. I didn't know this was still being done. I suspect something has corroded inside the lines and is moving about. In any event, back then it was a temporary cure.
