The heads on the 6L are a problem area or should I say head bolts. The bolts were too small and allow the heads to lift slightly under high boost and cylinder pressure. It would have been nice if the bolts would have been replaced with a better grade after market bolt but I doubt they were. If this were my truck I would be looking at new head bolts. Go to one of the 6L diesel performance web sites and ask those guys and see what they say.
