If you go to South Carolina spend some time at Hunting Island state park. Check out hunting Island on the net. Since you are headed this way see the Blue Ridge parkway. The middle of October is THE time to see the Park Way and that would be a great time to see Hunting Island. About 200 camp sites have the only people that can get on several miles of sandy beach. NICE
