I wouldn't recommend covering the trailer. The covers, though there may be some solar protection, have been known to trap mildew under them and rub various places on the trailer caused by winds. I saw a Hitchhiker not too long ago that had been covered every winter for four years and it had some hideous looking spots in the fiberglass due to the cover.
