Tim, I am not positive but I believe the new Verizon Smartfone we now have has a tethering package at $30. per month up to 5g. It is not a contract but can be started and stopped anytime. We can receive text and voice while laptop connected. Verizon did indicate that their aircard @ $59 per month with 5g may have a stronger data capability so will try the tethering route first.
