UPDATE Well did get the propane tube cleaned out and the gas side work. Did pull the switch out and checked it, all ok, then used an ohm meter on the element, disconnected the power wire (with breaker off) and check the element screw to screw for a complete circuit, then each screw to tank (looking for short) and no reading which is good. Reconnected the wires to the element turned on the breaker to check power to the element (110v) and nothing.... pushed on the switch and bingo the tank started to heat up, so answer was the switch we bad. Replaced it and all is good, I have hot water on electric again.
