Bob, I use a book called "Mountain Directory West for Truckers, RV and Motorhome Drivers" There is also one for the East which I need to get. Gives great info on grades, pull outs and signage on certain passes. I would not hesitate to do 8% grades and maybe even some steeper ones for short distances. I use Tow Haul for going up the hills and manual shifting going down.....
