If you want to make a pain in the a** project out of this, here is what I did.

Remove the skylight and CAREFULLY remove the original plastic dome. Replace w/plexiglass and put a piece of glass that has window tint applied to it on top of the plexiglass. It is important to have the window tint between the plexiglass and the regular glass or else the sun will cause the tint to warp.

This resulted in a significant reduction in light AND heat entering the TT while still having a skylight. I also put a piece of foam weather strip around the lip of the skylight just to prevent moisture from getting into the space between the skylight and the outer dome.

And when you finish, bang your head against the wall three times to complete the aggrevation caused by this modification.
