I am thinking it wasn't the level of the RV that was off 25+ degrees (left/right balance) but rather the angle of attack by the hitch to the pin. I don't have an auto-slide hitch but I thought only the Pull-Rite has an issue with having to hook up in an almost straight line. All others should slide in regardless of the angle of attack assuming the truck and RV are close to level (no big slopes). I have hooked up at almost 90 degrees but you do have to watch that the truck tailgate doesn't hit the garage door on the RV.
