I had mine certified and it was free. They just measure the tank to make sure the tank doesn't have a bigger center and top and bottom. The also measure from top to bottom on 3 different sides to make sure the tank measures the same. Its no big deal. Like I said it was free. I just happen to go to a real propane place where they have big trucks that deliver propane.
