With In Command the CANBUS signals that control HVAC functions are sent from DC. (Display Commander and BCM) to zone 1 and zone 2 control modules...
There is no separate thermostat... also each remote temp sensor for eac zone is plugged into either Zone 1 or Zone 2 AC control module on the roof
