I’m short too — 5’7” . So far, I just grab the top of the side of the bed, put one foot on the top of the tire, and pull myself up. However, since the top of the tailgate comes up to my chest, I did get one of those tailgate ladders for the back of the truck. But after looking at the posts here, I may get one of those over the wheel steps — I didn’t even know they made such a thing.

As for airing up the tires, I invested in stainless steel dually extended valve stems. The stems and installation was around $275, but it’s been worth it. Not an issue checking or filling up tires.
