That might be true at a few old campgrounds (the kind we never stay at if we can help it) but the vast majority of campgrounds built in the last 20 years would have to meet codes that would eliminate that being an issue.
Besides how may folks do you see running all kinds of lights, fans and appliances outside off of an extension cord...….
