well i had to remove the wet bolt totally, no way would it take any grease. got it on the bench and tried it still wouldn't take any. cleaned the hole and finally it took the grease. the one side of the bolt is worn a bit and the brass bushing in the spring is totally gone on one side. i dont think it was ever greased at all. i ordered a new bolt and bushing from lippert today. glad i found it now rather than down the road. oh well what do you do except fix it.
