one slide topper,done

today was the day. slugged down some coffee and got after it. got everything set up, tools, ladder and all the parts. so far so good. did some measurements for the awning rail. not enough room between gutter and top of slide flange. called carefree. the tech said stay within the stated specs. i couldn't do that with the gutter there. they suggested call dealer. yup gutter must be removed. i removed the gutter and mounted the awning rail over the gutter hole. i used that rubbery caulk and silicone. mounted all other hardware, went smooth. slide awning in track and into the other brackets and released the spring. awning tightened up and looked good. mounted covers and tried it out. IT WORKED. total time about 4 hrs. you know measure and measure again. then the hardest part putting holes in my baby. i must say it really wasn't that hard.
