"Maybe", "possibly", "suggests"

From a cnn.com article this AM:
Quote:
quote:NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Oil prices plummeted Wednesday, bringing a two-day selloff to more than $11 a barrel, after the government's weekly inventory report suggested record high gasoline prices may be reducing the nation's energy consumption.
WHAT??? This is what is so aggravating to the American public. It should read:
Quote:
quote:NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Oil prices plummeted Wednesday, bringing a two-day selloff to more than $11 a barrel, after the government's weekly inventory report leaves no doubt record high gasoline prices are definitely reducing the nation's energy consumption.
It's like these people don't have a clue and these reporters/analysts/experts still have a hard time admitting that there IS a DEFINITE problem. This wishy-washy approach from our leaders/authorities are almost as upsetting as the price of oil/fuel itself.
