Gulf State Park, AL

Just got back from Gulf Shores. The State park is located about 3 miles east of town on the north side of the highway. It looks like an older park but is clean and the sites are not crowded together. The bathrooms are also clean. The interior roads are good. There are over 400 sites. They give a senior discount but do not honor the Golden Age card. Cost is about $24.25 for full hookup. There are some sites with a lake view. The Gulf cannot be seen from the park at all, it as about 1/2 mile to the south. A fishing license is required to fish in the lake. There were not many folks there but last year it was packed during spring break time. They ask if you have a reservation when you check in so I expect it gets full quickly on popular holidays and vacation periods. I don't know about the area attractions since we went there to participate in a flytying show and did'nt look for other things.
