Rocky Mountain Towing

Hi,

This post may seem redundant, but in looking at all the posts about towing vehicle requirements I don't see any comments about whether people are towing in Iowa or western Colorado. I am new to 5th wheeling and I want to be able tow in western Colorado in the winter.
I am considering buying either a new 2850RK or a used 3255RL. The tow vehicle that I am considering buying is a Dodge Ram Truck 2500 SLT, Quad Cab, 4x2, Long Bed, Automatic 4-Speed, 8.0L V10 engine, 4.1 Axle Ratio.

Truck
Towing capacity = 12700#
GVWR = 9000#
Payload = 2840#
Curb Weight = 6164#
Curb Weight Front/Rear = 3520/2644#
GAWR Front/Rear = 4450/6150#
GCWR = 19,000#

2850RK
GVWR = 11820#
Gross Dry Weight = 8760#
Hitch = 1880#

3255RL
GVWR = 12620#
Gross Dry Weight = 9690#
Hitch = 2220#

Does anyone have any suggestions about the towing capability of the truck for either 5er.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Glenn
