Mine has a plastic cap also. But I have never needed any tools. Just hand tighten and hand remove. Has never leaked or come loose.

I don’t think that was Ford that needed a fuse. I know I didn’t on my 2007 or 2012 F350s. It was already there from new.

Does anyone know exactly how the trailer connection sensor works? What is it actually sensing? There would have to be some type closed loop electrical circuit.
I can not find anything on the web...

Tall trailers will have a natural lean on roadways with a high crown. But if it is leaning on flat pavement I would certainly be looking at the suspension on that side.

CW is currently advertising the TST 507 for under $200. The price is generally $300 or more. And the 507 does have user replaceable batteries unlike the 510.

I think there are more of us TST 507 owners than other brands. But others have been satisfied with some of the other brands also. Best? Don't know there is a good answer for that.

I think if you look carefully at the picture you will see a black wire with large yellow lug to the left side terminal of the smaller OEM breaker with the red cover. That would be from the battery....

My 2007 never had center caps in the hub covers from the start. 12 yrs and no issues so I guess they are mostly a cosmetic thing.
