Well in reality, you are plugging into a 240 Volt outlet, two 120V hots, ground, & neutral. As long as you have all four you're good to go, but lose the neutral and watch out.

If it sat for a while with only a few gallons of fuel, it will condense water with major temp changes. Any fuel tank that will sit for extended time should be completely full or empty.
