Been towing my Montana with a short bed Ford for over 15 years now with no slider and no problems. I wouldn’t advise one way or the other, though.

Thanks. Ihave the B&W Companion hitch, and it’s set in its lowest setting now. This makes the trailer tow almost level, but I’m looking for a little more clearance for peace of mind.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. From the answers here and elsewhere, I think it may be better to just raise the 5er about two inches, for clearance.

We put a piece of old sheeting between the inner and outer skylight. Lets in plenty of light, and no issues for 10 years or so. Work from the inside, it’s a lot easier.

No problems here, I live in Denver at 5280 feet, and camp regularly at 9,000 plus, with no issues. Butane may give you problems at altitude, but not propane.
