It folds up flush to the wall/table support and in no way protrudes enough to hit your legs on. My husband is 6' 4" and no problems. Definitely recommend.

I am in a 3731FL. There is no storage compartment adjacent to the shower drain...the nearest is a slide out compartment under the bed that has an exterior door. I'm thinking it's drop the coroplast...

Yes, there is a duct. The air has to have somewhere to move to in order to optimally heat an area. A return (or in this case, the gaps in the stairs) allows that to happen.

Our thought is that those gaps are there to function as a return FOR THE CARGO BAY. In other words, if you want heat to the cargo area in the winter, you have to have a place for that air to return....
