I have never had them on any of my units for the past 14 years. I have never had any leaks. I rarely clean slides before bringing by them with no problems.

At some sites there is a way to this provided that you do some modification to your wiring. As has been mentioned you can use the cheater if there is no GFI. But that system band my suggestion both...

That what I did plus a 15 ft 50amp extension so for a little over a hundred dollars. I have 15 ft cord or a 45 foot if I ever need to use the 15 with my orginal 30 ft cord.
