Just use the level up in manual mode to lift all four tires off the ground. No need to be hooked to tow vechicle. I store mine like that when not being used. Never any problems.

There is no doubt that grass growing under a vechile can help transfer moisture to it. I would think that the closer the grass is to the bottom of the vechicle the more moisture would be transferred....
