The only thing I caution about is the big rig hitch will be a lot rougher ride on the 5er than a pickup or an air ride hitch on a semi.

I Just changed the shackles on my Mountaineer this weekend. I also had one that one worn through. Mine lasted about 20,000 miles. It wouldnt hurt to check them every spring before the season starts....
