I have them and like them. Reduction in noise is worth it alone. Those that say they weigh too much, really how much can the few extra panes of glass weigh? 75 pounds?

Without making a claim, why not ask the insurance company what will happen. If the results are not favorable they won't do anything if you don't file a claim.
