The piece hanging down is black corrugated plastic. There's another small piece on the left side. It think it may be part of the large underbelly covering.

I unplugged the freezer and after 8 hours...

I unplugged the freezer and after 8 hours everything was still frozen. I don't believe I need to do anything more. Thanks for everyone's input.
