Hi Jack, The block that I needed to replace was the stationary one that holds the cable end. The cable was pulling through the block from being over torqued I suppose. The threaded block that travels on the threaded rod was fine. I bought two spares, one of each, when I bought the block I needed as they are fairly inexpensive so as long as I needed to pay freight, might as well get extras because some here have reported needing to replace the threaded block.
My unit was new when I replaced it so it’s been 3 years, iirc, lower the tire, remove the throughbolt that holds the block and install the cable end in the new block. I did not replace the threaded block, but I thought that you just continue to turn the crank counter clockwise until the threaded block is off the end of the screw.
